What is a project?
A Project is a coordinated effort to collect TEC waste data. iKickButts allows users to join existing projects or create their own groups and projects within the app to contribute to community science initiatives focused on TEC waste. Users can work together to collect and report data, creating a shared data pool that supports the project’s objectives.
Examples of community projects on the app:
- A neighborhood cleanup project might track waste to advocate for TEC waste policies in local communities.
- A high school classroom initiative could document TEC waste around school property to push for stricter regulations.
- A beach cleanup effort may record and analyze TEC waste collected along shorelines to support marine conservation efforts.
By participating, users help generate valuable data that can help inform policy changes, community action, and research.
Note: “TEC Waste” refers to the non-biodegradable and toxic waste generated by smoked, heated, and smokeless tobacco (T), electronic smoking/vaping devices (E), and cannabis (C) products.
