How can the data I collect on the app be used for research?
iKickButts provides researchers with tools for data collection, analysis, and collaboration. Researchers can use the app to map, track, categorize, and visualize TEC waste distribution across various communities by capturing key variables such as:
- Location
- Waste type
- Date
- Quantity
The app generates a dataset that can be downloaded, allowing researchers to analyze TEC waste characteristics in a specific geographic area and over a specific period of time. Users can easily download the data in CSV format for further statistical or graphic analyses. Users can also download a customized report in PDF format showing a map of a specific area of interest with TEC waste items and a table summarizing the number of types of TEC waste. The CSV data file can be imported into statistical analysis and spreadsheet programs. PDF reports be shared via email or through social media.
Note: “TEC Waste” refers to the non-biodegradable and toxic waste generated by smoked, heated, and smokeless tobacco (T), electronic smoking/vaping devices (E), and cannabis (C) products.
